Russia’s National Navigation Services Provider

   Russian global navigation satellite constellation GLONASS transmits position and time information to an unlimited number of land, sea, air, and space-based users in real time.
Pursuant to RF Presidential Decree, unrestricted access to civilian GLONASS signals from anywhere on Earth is freely provided for domestic and foreign users alike.

With aim to support the commercial development and proliferation of GLONASS technologies at home and abroad, RF Government instituted the National Navigation Service Provider and assigned its functions to «Navigation-Information Systems» in June of 2009.

Contributing to the formation of strategy and integrated technology policy for GLONASS development, and to the establishment of uniform requirements for developers and vendors of GLONASS solutions is among the important objectives of NIS GLONASS. National Navigation Services Provider is also responsible for integration of GLONASS with devices, equipment, and systems that use signals of other global satellite navigation services.

All NIS GLONASS projects in Russia and throughout the world are inherently constructive, aimed to enhance personal safety, improve the efficacy of rescue efforts, and encourage development and implementation of advanced technologies in important economic sectors.
